Our Stories

August 17th
We left at approxim. 9 am and went on until lunchtime, in Trujillo, a small town with little to see, blindly pointed to some restaurants and we nailed it! We ate well, and with a full belly on the way back to the car, we stopped for an ice cream. It was a relief to the heat it was (Spain never lets us down in the heat).

Refreshed we left for part II of that first day of travel, to visit Toledo, a city that until then I, Camila, had only heard of in the series La Casa de Papel, but even if you don't like the series, it's worth a visit if you're near. It is a medieval city, known for its steel, it has countless shops with souvenirs and churches and stone streets. very beautiful. We stroll through the historic center and we take the opportunity to take a slushie... combines with the warmth of Spain and we all like it (Spain also never disappoint in as for slushies, there are 450 thousand flavors and it is sold in every "hole").

We took our time to take some pictures and we took the opportunity to learn a little more about the history of the city because a tour guide was explaining to a group of tourists next to us, there were also newlyweds taking pictures nearby. We bought some souvenirs, stopped at a viewpoint for a few more photos and went to the hotel.

Installed, it was time for dinner, we found a terrace, a kind of shopping center with good looks and we stopped there for dinner (the heat continued and at this hour the thermometer marked 35º!) We ate some tapas and at the end of the day, it was time to rest for our first day in the park.

August 18th

We woke up early, ate breakfast at the hotel, showered and headed to Park Warner. The park according to the website, opens at 11:30 am, we were still there for a while, we bought the tickets there and there was no confusion nor long queues at the time of opening. Small children have priority and we entered soon because of Maria (she also didn't pay, children under 1 meter don't pay).

It is a park that can cheer older and smaller children, there are lots of characters who take turns taking pictures, there are parades that always have their charm, there are roller coasters, bumper cars, an area with showers and puddles and buckets that fill with water and fall on children, in short ... lots of options!

The restaurants fill up fast. Fortunately, we arrived early and didn't get in line, but when we left there were a lot of people waiting. We can't tell the time of those lines, but in a park, it's better to go with the spirit of facing big queues (although there, none of us recommends purchase of the fast pass, the waiting time was never too long at any of the attractions).

At the end of the day we were all completely satisfied with that day, we all had fun and were already "dead". At the hotel we ordered a pizza and slept early.

August 19th

Another park day, this time Warner Beach Park, a water park that is right next to the main park, you can even buy a combined ticket and move between the two parks, but we decided to spend each day in one to enjoy better each one of them. The park has numerous pools and an artificial beach, as well as the main one, the water park has attractions for all ages, unfortunately the day was not as warm as we expected, still we could enjoy it a lot.

About the fast pass, whoever can, it's worth it, the lines are very long and it wasn't even a very hot day, but on hot days it must be hell on earth!

We had some hamburguers fast food lunch there, and in the end, we all went out again satisfied with the day spent in the park. From there we went to the supermarket and bought some pre-made meals to eat at the hotel, which provided microwaves, dishes and cutlery for guests who needed them. And it was our last night in Spain, the next day we would be back to Lisbon.

August 20th

It was an ugly day, it was going to rain anytime, we ate and left for Portugal, stopping only at what is already mandatory stop, the "Retiro dos Amigos" Restaurant in Elvas, where we had lunch again and again we ate very well. Afterwards it was time to go back home.
